Michigan Fishing Report 2-24-2023

Note: Please keep in mind that most ice in lower Michigan is going to be unsafe, even if you find some. Don’t tempt fate. This fishing report is a work in progress. Want to give us a fishing report? We’ll link back to your website or social media profile, just send us a message!

Manistee River

Batcke’s Manistee River Lodge reports that last week or so fishing has been pretty good. Came up a bunch and now is starting go back down. Has a good stain to it. Fresh fish in the river. Pale pinks and pale oranges are the colors that have been working. Check out their website here. You can also check out the current water flow here.

Saginaw River

From Chuckie’s Bait and Tackle: Saginaw River is stirred up from the recent weather. Before that, it was producing walleye, coho, and even a couple of sturgeon. Will probably take a couple of days for the river to settle down.

Grand River

Brenner’s reports that fishermen at 6th street in Grand Rapids were doing really well on steelhead. Couple of days ago they were in there very heavy.

Muskegon River

Croton Bay Trading Post reports that they’ve only heard that some walleye have been caught down at the Croton Dam, near Newaygo.

Rogue River

The Rogue River in Rockford is low and clear. Water temp is 32-34. Glen with Great Lakes Fly Fishing Co says that some fish have been caught nymphing, but there hasn’t been a massive push yet. They have a nice river conditions page for the Muskegon, Rogue, and Flat rivers.

Tight lines and be safe on your fishing adventures this week.
